Cookie Policy

Which cookies arrobaMail.com uses, what for, and how you can manage them in your browser.

Updated June 20, 2026·Version 3.1

This policy complements the Privacy Policy and the General Terms.

1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file that a website downloads onto your computer, smartphone, or tablet when you visit it. Cookies are used to store and retrieve information about your browsing, remember preferences, keep sessions open, run statistical analysis, or personalize content.

We also use similar technologies: localStorage, sessionStorage, pixels, device identifiers, and third-party scripts. This policy applies to all of them.

2. Categories of cookies we use

We classify cookies into 4 categories. You can accept or reject them selectively from the consent banner when you enter the site.

2.1 🟢 Strictly necessary

Always active. They do not require consent because they are essential for the site to work, or because they only store an explicit choice you made (they do not track you).

  • Keeping your language preference (es / en / pt)
  • Remembering your currency preference (ARS / USD / BRL)
  • Managing your session when you log into your account (at demo.arrobamail.com or the app)
  • Storing your cookie consent choice
  • CSRF token for forms (security)

Technical note: suggested-language detection by country uses the CF-IPCountry header provided by Cloudflare. This is not a cookie: it is a technical piece of the request (an HTTP header) and is not stored on your device.

2.2 🟡 Preferences / functionality

Optional. They improve your experience, but the site works without them.

  • Remembering the last blog section you visited
  • Remembering your position in long tutorials
  • Display preferences (light/dark mode, if applicable)

2.3 🔵 Analytics

Optional. They help us understand how you use the site so we can improve it.

  • Google Analytics 4 — aggregate traffic metrics, page views, events, conversions
  • Cloudflare Analytics — technical edge metrics (anonymous, no client-side cookies)
  • Microsoft Clarity (if we implement it in the future) — anonymized heatmaps and session recordings

2.4 🟣 Marketing / Advertising

Optional. They enable campaign personalization and remarketing.

  • Google Ads (conversion tracking, remarketing)
  • Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram Ads — if implemented)
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag (if implemented)

If you reject this category, you won't see personalized arrobaMail ads on other platforms (though you may still see generic ads).

3. Detailed cookie table

3.1 Cookies currently in use

Name Provider Category Duration Purpose
am_locale arrobaMail Necessary 1 year Language preference (explicit choice)
am_currency arrobaMail Necessary 1 year Currency preference (explicit choice)
am_consent arrobaMail Necessary 1 year Stores your consent choice
am_session arrobaMail Necessary Session Session token (only if logged in)
cf_clearance, __cf_bm Cloudflare Necessary 30 min – 30 days Security and rate limiting

3.2 Tools we might implement (not yet active)

These tools are not yet installed on the site. Once activated, they will only load after your consent (governed by the banner and Google Consent Mode v2), and we will update this table. We list them for transparency:

Name Provider Category Duration Purpose
_ga, _ga_* Google Analytics 4 Analytics 2 years Anonymous unique identifier
_gid Google Analytics 4 Analytics 24 hours Session identifier
_gat_* Google Analytics 4 Analytics 1 minute Request rate limiting
_gcl_au Google Ads Marketing 90 days Conversion tracking
IDE, DSID Google DoubleClick Marketing up to 1 year Ad personalization

Last technical cookie audit: June 20, 2026. This table may vary as the site evolves; the current version is always published on this page.

4. Third-party cookies

Some site features load third-party resources that may set their own cookies:

Third party What for
Google Fonts Loading typefaces (self-hosted via next/font, does not set cookies)
Google Analytics 4 / Google Tag Manager Analytics
Cloudflare CDN, security, performance
YouTube (only if videos are embedded) Video playback
WhatsApp (contact button) Redirects to WhatsApp Web client (does not set cookies until you click)

We do not directly control third-party cookies, but we only load strictly necessary services and suppress any additional load without your consent.

5. How to manage your cookies

5.1 From our consent banner

The first time you visit, you'll see a banner where you can:

  • Accept all
  • Reject all optional (we keep only the necessary ones)
  • Customize by category (Preferences, Analytics, Marketing)

You can change your choice at any time from the footer → "Cookie settings."

5.2 From your browser

You can also manage cookies directly from your browser settings:

If you disable necessary cookies or delete all cookies, parts of the site may stop working correctly (language switcher, session, remembering preferences).

5.3 Global opt-out tools

6. We don't sell your data

arrobaMail does not sell or rent personal data obtained via cookies to third parties. We use analytics and marketing cookies exclusively to improve the site and guide our own commercial communications.

7. Privacy by default

When you enter the site:

  • Necessary cookies are active (no option to reject, they are technically essential)
  • Optional cookies are inactive until you explicitly accept them
  • The banner appears before any Analytics, Marketing, or Preferences script loads

Technically, your choice is stored in the am_consent cookie and applied through Google Consent Mode v2: until you accept, analytics and marketing tags start in a denied state by default. This complies with the privacy-by-default principles required by the GDPR, the LGPD, and equivalent regulations.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when we add new tools or cookies. Material changes will be communicated by:

  • Renewing the consent banner (we will ask you again)
  • A visible notice in the footer for 30 days
